Independent Battery Manufacturers Association, Inc.

The Independent Battery Manufacturers Association, (IBMA), consists of U.S. and overseas lead-acid battery manufacturers and suppliers to the battery manufacturing industry. IBMA is a not for profit organization that exists to advance the technical science of the manufacture of lead-acid batteries; to promote and develop standards of quality; to aid in sound business practices; to help members in advertising and sales promotion; to safeguard standards of honor, integrity and courtesy among members and to encourage and facilitate a better and cordial relationship with the general public. IBMA is affiliated with several other associations and contributes monies and involvement in environmental legislation and concerns. IBMA is the publisher of The Battery Man Magazine (Monthly trade journal), and the IBMA hosts an annual convention. We also publish a biannual directory titled SLIG Buyer's Guide a listing of manufacturers, consultants and products for the industry. This is a worldwide listing and the new edition will be available in March 2001.

Battery Council International is a not-for-profit organization with the mission of promoting the interests of the international lead-acid battery industry. With more than 175 members worldwide, the Battery Council International (BCI) brings together lead-acid battery manufacturers and recyclers, marketers and retailers, suppliers of raw materials and equipment, and industry consultants.

International Lead Zinc Research Organization, Inc.

The International Lead Zinc Research Organization, Inc. was formed in 1958 as a non-profit research foundation for the purpose of conducting research on behalf of the international community of lead and zinc miners and smelters. Since that time, ILZRO's membership has grown to include significant numbers of end-users of these metals from among the steel, automotive, die casting, battery, galvanizing and other industries. ILZRO's R&D portfolio for 1999-2000 covers most major areas of lead and zinc consumption, as well as significant work in the areas of the environment and human health. The results of ILZRO R&D efforts are communicated through a variety of forums, including research reports, technical seminars, expert consulting, internet sites and printed publications.
