The American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit based in Washington DC that is focused on accelerating the adoption of renewable energy technologies into the mainstream of American society. ACORE's work is focused in three areas:convening the renewable energy community, communication campaigns about renewable energy and renewable energy information publishing.

The Council was created in 1992 by senior executives in the natural gas, energy efficiency, electric utility and renewable energy industries in the United States. The Council consists of leading companies and industry trade associations. The organization advocates policies that promote the nation's economic, environmental and national security goals. Members of the Council represent companies on the cutting edge of efficient, economic and environmentally sound technologies, such as fuel cells, solar power, cogeneration, wind power and natural gas combined-cycle systems.
The Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF) is powering a brighter 21st century for the two billion people in the developing world who still live without electricity ó to light their homes, pump pure water, refrigerate vaccines, or connect to the wider world through wireless communications. SELF provides a compelling solution to the energy and communication needs of this third of humanity without inflicting additional damage on the planet or compromising indigenous culture.
Founded in 1982, the U.S. Export Council for Renewable Energy (US/ECRE) is a non-profit organization supporting the U.S. renewable energy and energy efficiency industries in efforts to accelerate international use of their technologies.
