Cogeneration is nowhere reaching its full potential in Europe. At present it is used to produce only about 10% of the EU's electricity - but at least 30% is achievable. COGEN EUROPE was created in 1993, with support from DG XVII (now DG Energy and Transport) of the European Commission, to reflect the clear need for great cooperative efforts at a European Level to unlock the full potential for Cogeneration.

EWEA members include manufacturers covering 98% of the world wind power market, component suppliers, research institutes, national wind and renewables associations, developers, electricity providers, finance and insurance companies and consultants. The combined strength of more than 250 members from over 40 countries makes EWEA the world s largest renewable energy association. EWEA is the first stop for external enquiries about wind power from around the world.

European Forum for Renewable Energy Sources (EUFORES)

EUFORES is a non-profit organisation based in Brussels, engaged in EU institutional and political promotion of renewable energy-related issues throughout the European Union, as well as in widespread communication between sectorial actors and towards society.

PV Cycle

PV CYCLE was founded in July 2007 to implement the photovoltaic industry's commitment to set up a voluntary take back and recycling programme for end-of-life-modules and to take responsibility for PV modules throughout their entire value chain. PV modules are designed to generate clean, renewable energy for over 25 years. With the first significant installations in the early 1990s, full-scale end-of-life recycling is still another 10-15 years away.
