Pelamis Wave Power (PWP), formerly Ocean Power Delivery, specializes in developing and manufacturing the Pelamis Wave Energy Converter, an offshore wave power device. A full-scale prototype Pelamis was installed at EMEC in 2004 and was the world's first commercial scale machine to generate electricity into the grid from offshore wave energy. A further commercial contract for the Agucadoura Wave Park off the north coast of Portugal, including three Pelamis 750kW devices, represented the world's first commercial wave farm project. Current projects include partnerships with utilities E. On, Vattenfall, and ScottishPower Renewables, as well as the development of a potential wave farm site by PWP themselves.
