African Rural Energy Enterprise Development (AREED)

AREED provides early-stage funding and enterprise development services to entrepreneurs, helping build successful businesses that supply clean energy technologies and services to rural African customers. Services include training, hands-on business development assistance and, for promising enterprises, early-stage investment and assistance in securing financing. The AREED initiative also works to broaden the skills of organizations involved in the energy and investment sectors to nurture energy entrepreneurs.

International Network on Small Hydro Power

International Network on Small Hydro Power was co-founded by UNDP, UNIDO, China's government and some other international/regional institutes in 1994, with the aim of imoroving the development of SHP worldwide through so-called Triangular Cooperation among developed countries, developing countries and international organizations. The secretariat of IN-SHP is at Hangzhou, China. Traning, consultation, information/expertise exchange and technology transfer are the main activities of IN-SHP.
