The Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) was formed by the unification of the Canadian Photovoltaic Industry Association and the Canadian Solar Industry Association in August of 1992. The two associations joined to promote the increased usage of solar technology in Canada. CanSIA is a registered non-profit organization whose membership is comprised of private individuals, companies and governments interested in solar technology.
Cogeneration is nowhere reaching its full potential in Europe. At present it is used to produce only about 10% of the EU's electricity - but at least 30% is achievable. COGEN EUROPE was created in 1993, with support from DG XVII (now DG Energy and Transport) of the European Commission, to reflect the clear need for great cooperative efforts at a European Level to unlock the full potential for Cogeneration.
We foresee a robust Canadian wind energy community that makes a significant contribution to safe, reliable, economically and environmentally sustainable energy supply in Canada. The Renewable Energy Policy Project was launched in August 1995 with the support and advice of the renewable energy community.
